Three simple steps

... and then you are there!

Using BushFIre is simple. There are no fancy menus to navigate. It has a simple wizard like interface. Look at the tabs at the bottom of the wizard; and enter information asked of you in each of the steps. Note that some of the information asked of you is optional; and it will gently tell you in case you missed some entry.

Step 1

This where you enter the domain name of the website you want to host. This is actually optional, strangely enough (explained later) At this step you can opt to use the excellent open source, free DeSec.io DNS to host the DNS settings for your new website. In such a case you would have to supply either the DeSec.io API token (if you had an account with DeSec.io earlier ) OR you can choose to do a fresh sign-in or sign-up to DeSec.io ... Yes, we have one and the same dialog for both Regsitration and Login for DeSec.io Once your entry is confirmed into DeSec.io, it automatically will fill in the DeSec API Token too.

In case you do NOT want to use DeSec.io DNS; and instead prefer doing that part of the work yourself manually; then enter ignore in the field that is asking for the DeSec.io API Token

Step 2

For this step; we will assume that all the files needed to host your website are all properly done and stored under one folder. That folder is called the ""Web Root Folder" Then in this page of the dialog, you need to select that Web Root Folder of your website. Only then can you proceed with the pinning.

You can choose to do the pinning process either thru the free Infura service OR thru the Pinata Service (which has a generous 1 Gb plan). The terms "pinning" and "Web Root Folder" are explained separately in this documentation.

Pinning entails a small pinning fees for some of the pinnings. Buy "Koyns" from our payment gateway here; and then convert your receipt to a special Koyn Code here. Then enter the Koyn Code in this page at the correct field. Once a website is pinned for a few times; the expense is capped and all other pinning are then free of cost for you, for that domain. The capping limit is explained in our pricing page on our website. Pinning can also be done without supplying a domain name. But it will always entail charges.

Note that in this version, we do not do a sanity check on the ownership of the domain name you provide. We assume you are the owner. Because if you are not the owner; then the pinning you carried out would anyway go in vain; as the DNS system will silently ignore your settings. Because the real owner of the domain would have set another DNS Name Server.

Step 3

Once the pinning is successful, then you would be taken automatically to the 3rd page of the Wizard. There the penultimate step is actually carried out. If you had specified DeSec.io as the DNS of your website; then it will perform all the DNS settings that are needed for hosting to be successful . Once that is over; you would be taken to a special page hosted by CloudFlare where you would need to give your domain name of your website in a simple form. On doing that (and once DNS propagation has happened) then CloudFlare will do its magic; and your website will become a secure (HTTPS) website.

If you had ignored DeSec.io; you would need to do all this DNS settings, etc yourself.

And that is all there is to it! At this point, you have got yourself a website! Congratulations!
